HISTORY: The 2015 edition of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will be the first in the championship’s history. Along with the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, the championships will be the first additions to the USGA championship schedule since the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur began in 1987. The creation of the two championships was announced on February 11, 2013.

USGA CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OREGON: The U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will be the 33rd USGA championship held in Oregon. Only eight states (California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania) have hosted more.

The Beaver State’s history of hosting USGA championships dates back to 1933, when the U.S. Amateur Public Links were staged at Eastmoreland Golf Club in Portland. Most recently, the U.S. Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links were held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in 2011. Several of the game’s greats have won USGA championships in the state of Oregon, including Tiger Woods, Nancy Lopez, Johnny Miller and Juli Inkster.

USGA CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BANDON DUNES: This will be the fifth USGA championship held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, and the second contested at Pacific Dunes, following the 2006 Curtis Cup. Most recently, the 2011 U.S. Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links championships were held concurrently at the Old Macdonald and Bandon Trails courses, with portions of both championships being contested on both courses. The 2007 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship was held at the Bandon Dunes Course.
