Far Hills, N.J. – The United States Golf Association has officially begun its search for a new executive director with a formal job posting and the formation of a committee that will conduct the search.
The committee is being chaired by USGA President Jim Hyler and includes incoming Vice Presidents Glen D. Nager and Thomas J. O’Toole Jr., incoming USGA Women’s Committee Chairman Martha Lang, and James F. Vernon, immediate past president of the USGA.
The USGA will not engage the services of an outside firm to conduct the search to replace David Fay, who recently announced his retirement after serving as executive director of the USGA for more than 21 years.
“The USGA realizes that replacing David will be a difficult task and we are dedicated to finding the right candidate to lead the Association,” said Hyler. “We plan to conduct a thorough search that includes both internal and external candidates, and hope to have a new executive director in place within the next three to four months.”
