5:57 p.m. - Olin Browne may have saved his best for last, as he drained a nifty 28-foot putt on the 18th hole to win the U.S. Senior Open by three strokes over Mark O'Meara. When Browne's putt disappeared into the hole for his only birdie of the day, he raised his arms in triumph for a solid 15 seconds.
"I was always OK today," said Brown in reference to his nerves."I was jumpy today. I told my wife my stomach was churning a little bit. I knew if I could stay patient, I could settle into the round."
Browne became the first wire-to-wire finisher since Dale Douglass in 1986. Except for one bogey, Browne was a model of consistency, earning his only birdie on No. 18.
"My hat's off to him. He hung in there, he had a two-shot lead entering 18 and he didn't get flustered," said O'Meara.
5:45 p.m. - Olin Browne strengthened his grip on winning the 2011 U.S. Senior Open after making a 10-foot putt to save par on No. 17.
