SOUTHAMPTON N.Y. – As sunlight diffused through the clouds at Sebonack Golf Club on Saturday morning, the visibility was much better than it had been Friday evening when fog suspended the second round of the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open.
A little more than 12 hours after they were called off the course, 39 players returned to complete their second rounds. With three holes remaining after play resumed at 7:01 a.m. EDT, Jodi Ewart Shadoff, of England, made a birdie on the par-5 18th hole to move to third place at 5 under.

The birdie put her in the final group with leader Inbee Park, who is 9 under, and I.K. Kim, who is 7 under after 36 holes. They will tee off at 12:40 p.m.
The second-to-last group, teeing off at 12:29 p.m. is the all-American trio of Jessica Korda, Lizette Salas and Angela Stanford.
The biggest beneficiary of the calm morning conditions was Karine Icher, of France, who made birdies on the final three holes to jump to 2 under.
Sixty-eight players made the cut, which fell at 6-over 150. Among the players missing the cut were Yani Tseng, Se Ri Pak and Juli Inkster.
There are 11 players under par, and six amateurs made the cut, led by Canada’s Brooke Mackenzie Henderson, who is 3 over.
After the second round was complete, rain began falling at Sebonack, but the precipitation is expected to end before the third round begins.
