As a founding partner of First Tee, the USGA actively drives greater accessibility to the game by providing opportunities for underserved juniors through the IDEA grant program. As CEO Mike Whan explains to Golf Channel, the investment is critical to changing the face of the game.
"If we want golf to look and feel exactly like it did 30 years ago, that's easy. Do exactly what we've been doing. If we want golf to be more inclusive, more diverse, more engaging – more like America – then we have to invest in that,” said Whan.
