A player who has earned a place in a USGA championship either through qualifying or exemption may request a one-year extension of their place into the championship due to maternity. A side that has earned a place in a USGA championship either through qualifying or exemption may request a one-year extension of their place into the championship due to the maternity of a member of the side. All such requests must be made in writing to the USGA Senior Director, Championship Administration at champs@usga.org as soon as possible, but prior to the first day of the championship in which the player has earned their place.
The USGA will also consider a request for a one-year extension of a player's or side's place into a USGA championship due to adoption by the natural adoptive parents, a surrogate or paternity leave. All such requests must be made in writing to the USGA Senior Director, Championship Admnistration at champs@usga.org as soon as possible, but prior to the first day of the championship in which the player has earned their place.
