Attending for the Golf2019 U.S. Women's Open Fan Info

World class golf at a world class venue. Take in the action as the world’s best take on the Seth Raynor-designed Country Club of Charleston.

I have tickets for a practice round day. When will the players be practicing?

Players will have the option of starting practice rounds at the 1st or 10th tee.  Players electing to play a full round generally begin between 6:45 a.m. and 3 p.m.  It is typical for players to be on the golf course or practice areas until at least 7 p.m.

I have tickets for a championship round. When is the best time to attend?

Play is scheduled to begin at 6:40 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees for both Rounds 1 and 2.  The last groups are scheduled to begin play at 2:32 p.m. from both the first and 10thtees.

          Thursday, May 30 (first round)

(Gates open at 6:30 a.m. to conclusion of play)

          Friday, May 31 (second round)

(Gates open at 6:30 a.m. to conclusion of play)

For Rounds 3 and 4, the first starting time will be determined by the number of players who make the cut (60 lowest scorers and anyone tying for 60th place).  Generally, the first pairing begins play from the first tee between 8-9 a.m.; the last pairing for both days will start from the first tee approximately 2 p.m.

          Saturday, June 1 (third round)

(Gates open one half hour prior to first tee time to conclusion of play)

          Sunday, June 2 (final round)

(Gates open one half hour prior to first tee time to conclusion of play)

What is the potential playoff scenario?

If there is a tie for the low score after 72 holes, a two-hole playoff will be held immediately following the conclusion of play of the final round. If after two holes there is still a tie, we will move to a sudden death format.

I have a general grounds ticket. Where are the best places to view golf?

Views of The Country Club of Charleston golf course are nothing short of stunning from any location. But to get the best piece of the action, we recommend the following locations each day:

Front 9

  • First hole tee-offs are always exciting! Sit in the grandstand on No. 1 for a chance to see players start their rounds in a well-attended area.

  • Holes 3 and 6 are especially challenging par 3s, so situating yourself around the greens will put you in a great position to watch.

Back 9

  • Hole 11 has become historically infamous. In fact, Sam Snead once carded a 13 on the hole and Ben Hogan once commented after a bogey, “Your greens beautiful, but what you need for that eleventh hole is about five sticks of dynamite.” Head to the grandstand at the back right of this hole for a front row seat to what is sure to be a prime location to see history in the making.

  • Holes 12, 13, 14 and 16 will have loads of action in one place and hole 17’s unique island design has proven to be difficult for even the most seasoned golf professionals. Grandstands will be located on holes 14, 15 and 17.

  • Head over to the 18th green’s grandstand as each player makes their final stroke and finishes their round. This is where history will be made!

What else is going on?

Well as they say, the early bird gets the worm. If you are one of the first 200 fans to join us for our opening tee shot on Thursday morning, we will give you a complimentary ticket to come back and join us over the weekend! That’s two days of great golf for the price of one.
