After careful monitoring of the global COVID-19 pandemic and with the guidance of health and government officials, we have made the decision to forgo this year’s U.S. Senior Open Championship. We feel it is the right decision to make for the safety of everyone involved in the championship.

The decision to cancel did not come lightly, as we weighed how everyone could be affected – players, fans, and our host communities.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the championship.

VOLUNTEERS- CANCELLATION FAQs

How can I get a refund of my volunteer package? 

Full refunds will be made on all volunteer fees paid to date. All refunds will be made in the coming weeks.
 

Why wasn’t the championship postponed like the U.S. Open/Women’s Open? 

It is of the uppermost importance to the USGA to protect the players, volunteers, staff and all who play a role in bringing this championship to life. Given the ever-growing list of cancellations and postponements in the golf community and the broader sports world, as well as continued challenges that will undoubtedly arise in the coming months, the USGA feels strongly that cancelling the 2020 U.S. Senior Open championship is in the best interest of all those who are involved. We look forward to continuing to build the legacy of the U.S. Senior Open in 2021. 
 

Will I still receive my volunteer uniform?

No, volunteer uniforms will not be distributed.
 

Have they started volunteer recruitment for the 2021 U.S. Senior Open? 

Not yet. Please keep an eye on usga.org for future volunteer opportunities.
