The four-time winner on the LPGA Tour of Japan will make her fourth U.S. Women’s Open start, and first since missing the cut in 2017 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. She got into the field as a late alternate when Andrea Lee withdrew from the championship on Wednesday. In 2016 at CordeValle, Watanabe tied for 38th. Watanabe does own one victory in 2020 (Earth Mondahim Cup). She posted two JLPGA wins in 2015 and another in 2014.
