Since turning pro in 2019, Nishimura already owns one victory on the LPGA Tour of Japan (Mitsubishi Electric/Hisako Higuchi Ladies Golf Tournament) and a tie for fourth (Fujitsu Ladies). This will be Nishimura’s first U.S. Women’s Open start, thanks to being No. 93 in the Rolex Rankings. As an amateur, Nishimura was the runner-up in the 2018 Women’s Asia-Pacific Amateur. She was fifth in that same event in 2019. She also represented Japan in the 2018 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.
