A perennial contender, Yang posted eight top 10s in a nine-year span, including a pair of solo seconds in 2012 and 2015. In 2015 at Lancaster (Pa.) Country Club, Yang was in the final group and poised to win her first major title, only to be passed by In Gee Chun and come up one stroke short. Three of Yang’s LPGA titles have come in the Honda LPGA Thailand (2015, 2017 and 2019). Yang started playing the game at age 10 in Korea before her family moved to the Gold Coast of Australia so she could pursue a career in the game. This will be her 14th start in the U.S. Women’s Open.
