The runner-up in the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open is set to make her 12th start in the championship. Nordqvist lost a three-hole aggregate playoff to Brittany Lang at CordeValle. The Swede’s first of eight LPGA Tour victories came in the 2009 McDonald’s LPGA Championship (now KPMG Women’s PGA Championship). She added the Evian Championship in 2017 in a playoff over Brittany Altomare. Nordqvist played in two Women’s World Amateur Team Championships, leading Sweden to victory in 2008. At Arizona State, she was an All-American in 2007 and 2008 before turning pro. Nordqvist contended in this year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, finishing solo fifth. She also has been a stalwart for the European Solheim Cup Team, playing in six competitions (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019).
