The California native’s first professional victory turned out to be a major championship: the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The one-stroke win over Brooke Henderson came in her 144th start. Kang has since claimed four more titles, including consecutive victories in Greater Toledo, Ohio, after the circuit restarted following a long hiatus due to COVID-19. She won the LPGA Drive On Championship at historic Inverness Club and then rallied to beat Lydia Ko by a stroke in the Marathon Classic.
