Ko rose to No. 1 in the Rolex Rankings in 2019 thanks to a pair of major victories. She won the ANA Inspiration by three strokes and capped the major-championship season with a two-stroke win in the Evian Championship. She also won the CP Women’s Open by five strokes. From 2014-17, Ko won 10 times on the LPGA of Korea Tour. When she won the 2017 LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, a co-sanctioned event with the LPGA Tour and KLPGA, Ko took up membership on the LPGA Tour for the 2018 season. This will be Ko’s fourth start in the U.S. Women’s Open.
