Korda, the daughter of 1990 Australian Open singles champion Petr Korda and younger sister of 5-time LPGA Tour winner Jessica, is set to make her sixth U.S. Women’s Open start. The two first appeared in the same U.S. Women’s Open in 2013 at Sebonack when Nelly was 14. Nelly made the cut and tied for 64th. She has since passed her sister in the Rolex Rankings, moving to No. 3 (Jessica is currently No. 21). Three of Nelly’s five worldwide wins have come on the LPGA Tour, the last being the 2019 Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA, and event she also won in 2018 for her first LPGA Tour win. She also joined sister Jessica as an Australian Open champion in 2019. Nelly nearly captured her first major title in September at the ANA Inspiration, losing in a three-way playoff with Mirim Lee (champion) and Brooke Henderson.
