The University of South Carolina fifth-year senior is making her U.S. Women’s Open debut after shooting 8-under 136 in Atlanta. She had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 2020-21 season and tied for 10th in the SEC Championship. Pelaez Triviño has been a Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar each of her previous four seasons at South Carolina. In 2017, she captured the NCAA Columbus (Ohio) Regional and set a school freshman mark with a 73.12 stroke average. In 2015, she reached the semifinals of the British Girls Championship.
