Kim broke through for her first major championship in 2014 at the Evian Championship by edging Karrie Webb by one stroke. Kim's first worldwide win came as an amateur on the LPGA Tour of Korea at the 2012 Lotte Mart Women's Open. She now owns 12 victories on the KLPGA. Kim took up membership on the LPGA Tour following her Evian victory. Her last title on that circuit and now owns four titles, including the 2021 HSBC Champions in early May. In the 2018 U.S. Women's Open at Shoal Creek, she lost a four-hole playoff (two extra holes) to Ariya Jutanugarn.
