Road to Olympic: Qualified at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas

Qualified for her third U.S. Women’s Open by surviving a 2-for-1 playoff on May 10. Her first U.S. Women’s Open start was at Oakmont Country Club outside of Pittsburgh, where she missed the cut as an amateur. Lee-Bentham won the 2011 Canadian Women’s Amateur, a year after claiming the Canadian Girls Junior. She attended the University of Texas for one year before turning pro in fall of 2011 and qualifying for the LPGA Tour. In 2016, Lee-Bentham briefly retired due to injuries and personal reasons to become an instructor. But she regained the competitive bug three years later, capturing her lone title, the 2019 DCM PGA Women’s Championship in Canada before gaining Symetra Tour status for 2020.
