Cheng, who is making her third U.S. Women’s Open start, helped Chinese Taipei win the 2016 UL Crown, a team competition among eight leading women’s golf nations. Her only other professional victory came in the 2019 FireKeepers Hotel Championship on the Symetra Tour. She finished fourth on the Symetra Tour money list in 2019 to earn her LPGA Tour card for the 2020 season. As a 17-year-old amateur, she won the 2014 Xiamen Open, a Ladies European Tour event, and captured four other LPGA Tour of Taiwan titles. In 2015 as a rookie on the LET, she finished 14th on the money list.
