Song, one of three female golfers to win multiple USGA championships in the same year (Pearl Sinn and Eun Jeong Seong), is set to make her 14th U.S. Women's Open start. She earned low-amateur honors in 2007 at Pine Needles and 2009 at Saucon Valley Country Club. Song was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., and owns dual American and Korean citizenship. She won both the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women’s Amateur titles in 2009, and was a member of the victorious 2010 USA Curtis Cup Team. She turned professional in 2010 after two seasons at USC. She was involved in a three-way playoff at the 2018 ANA Inspiration, but was eliminated on the third extra hole. Pernilla Lindberg eventually outlasted Inbee Park on the eighth playoff hole. Both of her professional wins came on the Futures Tour (now Symetra Tour) in 2010.
