Smith earned her ninth U.S. Women's Open start by surviving a 6-for-2 playoff for the last spots on April 26. She missed most of the 2019 season due to maternity leave. In 2018, she tied for fifth in the U.S. Women’s Open at Shoal Creek. She made 18 of 30 cuts. In 2017, she made 27 of 31 cuts, including a tie for third in the ISPS Handa Australian Open. Prior to turning professional, she was the top-ranked junior (2002) and amateur (2003) in Australia.
