Road to Pine Needles: Top 75 in Rolex Rankings as of April 6
The teenager from Slovenia earned her first U.S. Women's Open start by getting inside the top 75 in the Rolex Rankings as of April 6. Babnik finished third in the Chevron Championship in just her third major-championship start, carding a final-round 66. She currently owns two victories on the Ladies European Tour: the 2021 Jabra Ladies Open and 2021 Aramco Team Series - Jeddah. Babnik played in her first professional event at the age of 12 (2016 LET Access Series, the Citizen Guard LETAS in Belgium) and made the cut. She represented Slovenia in the 2017 European Girls Team Championship, and again in 2018 and 2019 in the European Ladies' Team Championship. In 2019, she won the Girls Junior Championship conducted by The R&A. She also represented Europe in the 2019 Junior Solheim Cup.
