Choi broke through in 2012 at Blackwolf Run to capture the U.S. Women's Open by four strokes over Amy Yang, thanks to a third-round 65. Nine of Choi's 15 worldwide wins have been on the LPGA Tour, the last coming in the 2015 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Choi announced her presence as a 17-year-old amateur when she bested 1998 U.S. Women's Open champion and Korean icon Se-Ri Pak at the ADT CAPS Invitational. She turned professional shortly thereafter. In 2014, Choi represented Korea in the UL International Crown.
