The two-time major-championship winner is set to make her 16th U.S. Women’s Open start. Lewis’ two major titles came in the 2011 ANA Inspiration (now Chevron Championship) and 2013 Women’s British Open. She was the runner-up in the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open to Michelle Wie. In 2008, she became the first player to go 5-0-0 in the Curtis Cup Match, leading the USA to victory on the Old Course at St Andrews. Lewis was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 11 and underwent spinal surgery that forced her to redshirt at Arkansas for one season. In 2006, she advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, not long after she won the Women’s Western Amateur. Lewis has competed in four Solheim Cups. In August 2020, Lewis ended a three-year victory drought by claiming the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open. She is married to current Texas A&M women’s golf coach Gerrod Chadwell. The couple welcomed daughter, Chesnee, in October 2018.
