Harigae might now have won the 2022 U.S. Women's Open at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, but her second-place finish netted her a check for just more than $1 million, the most ever for a runner-up in women's golf history. Harigae began making headlines since capturing four consecutive California Women’s Amateur titles from the age of 12 in 2001. The Monterey, Calif., native won the 2007 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links at age 17. She also was a semifinalist in the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2003 and 2006. The 2008 USA Curtis Cup competitor spent one semester at Duke before turning professional. She owns seven professional victories, including three on the Symetra Tour. During the LPGA Tour’s hiatus due to COVID-19, Harigae posted four victories on the Cactus Tour in Arizona. In 2021, she represented the United States in the Solheim Cup at Inverness Club..
