The California native’s first professional victory turned out to be a major championship: the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The one-stroke win over Brooke Henderson came in her 144th start. Kang has since claimed five more titles, the latest coming at the 2022 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions to kick off the season. Before turning professional, Kang registered back-to-back U.S. Women’s Amateur titles in 2010 and 2011. She will be making her 12th start in the U.S. Women’s Open, with her best finish solo fourth in 2018 at Shoal Creek. Kang represented the USA in the 2010 Women's World Amateur Team Championship, and the 2017, 2019 and 2021 Solheim Cups.
