Road to Pine Needles: Qualified at Gainesvile, Fla., site on May 2
Galdiano, a former standout at UCLA, qualified for her fifth U.S. Women's Open, but first as a professional after shooting 3-under-par 137 (72-65) to share medalist honors at Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida on May 2. Galdiano qualified for her first U.S. Women's Open at the age of 13 in 2011 (The Broadmoor). The Honolulu, Hawaii, native also qualified again as an amateur in 2013, 2015 and 2017, making the cut in '15 at Lancaster (Pa.) Country Club. She also was the stroke-play medalist in the 2016 U.S. Women's Amateur. Galdiano was a member of the 2016 and 2018 USA Curtis Cup Teams, and represented her country in the 2018 and 2019 Palmer Cups. Galdiano, who also represented the USA in the 2016 Women's World Amateur Team Championship, won the 2015 Canadian Women's Amateur, and took individual gold in the 2017 World University Games. Attended the same high school (Punahou) as former President Barack Obama and past U.S. Women's Open champion Michelle Wie-West. Before enrolling at UCLA, she represented the USA in the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup.
