Kim broke through for her first major championship in 2014 at the Evian Championship by edging Karrie Webb by one stroke. Kim's first worldwide win came as an amateur on the LPGA Tour of Korea at the 2012 Lotte Mart Women's Open. She now owns 21 worldwide victories, 14 of which have come on the KLPGA. Kim took up membership on the LPGA Tour following her Evian victory. Her last LPGA Tour win came in the 2021 HSBC Champions and she captured her fifth LPGA Title at the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii in April. In the 2018 U.S. Women's Open at Shoal Creek, she lost a four-hole playoff (two extra holes) to Ariya Jutanugarn.
