Alvarez will make her first U.S. Women's Open start after shooting 8-under-par 136 in the Richardson, Texas, qualifier at Canyon Lake Country Club. Posted rounds of 67-69 to garner the second and final spot. Played on the Epson Tour (formerly Symetra Tour) in 2021. At Washington, she clinched the winning point in the championship match against Stanford to win the 2016 NCAA title. Alvarez went 3-0 in matches, including the extra-hole triumph over Stanford's Lauren Kim to put the Huskies over the top. Won the 2013 New Zealand Women's Amateur.
