Lemieux, a past three-time Idaho Women's Amateur champion, will make her U.S. Women's Open debut after garnering the lone spot at Chaska (Minn.) Town Course. Lemieux posted a 36-hole total of 1-under-par 143 (71-72). Lemieux currently competes on the Epson Tour (formerly Symetra Tour), where she registered a pair of top-10 finishes in 2021, including a share of third in the Circling Raven Championship. Prior to turning pro, she was named the 2016 Big 12 Player of the Year and helped lead the Red Raiders to a pair of NCAA Championship appearances. The native of Caldwell, Idaho is part of the Shoshone-Paiute Native American tribe, although she didn't grow up on the reservation. She played a variety of sports as a youth before gravitating to golf through her father. As a junior, she qualified for three consecutive U.S. Girls' Junior Championships (2012-14) and was twice the Idaho Golf Association's Girls Junior champion. In college, Lemieux (nee Barker) befriended fellow Native American Notah Begay IIIl and he helped mentor her as she transitioned into professional golf.
