Daniel O’Brien will be an intern for the USGA Green Section Southeast Region. He is a graduate student at the University of Arkansas completing a master’s degree in Turfgrass Science working under Dr. Douglas Karcher. His graduate research focuses on technologies for measuring putting green surface characteristics.
Daniel’s interest in turfgrass management stemmed from experiences while growing up playing golf. Currently, Daniel serves as a research technician, managing daily operations of the University of Arkansas’ research program, emphasizing wetting agent use in sand-based putting greens.
Daniel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass Management from Auburn University and, upon completion of his master’s degree, intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Turfgrass Science.
