Richard Forsyth took the helm as director of golf courses at Royal Melbourne in 2009 and has hosted two Presidents Cups and numerous professional and amateur championships at the historic Australian golf club. Shown above, periodically stripping the bentgrass sod from the surface of the greens and removing the accumulated organic matter layer below has been the club's traditional way of managing organic matter.
