Carson Letot, Ph.D., GAP Program Coordinator

Carson is an instructor at Sandhills Community College and the coordinator for the Greenkeeper Apprenticeship Program. Prior to working with the USGA, he completed a doctorate at Penn State in Agricultural Education. Carson has worked both in the turfgrass industry on golf course around the world as well as in the classroom as an agriculture and environmental science teacher at Montague High School in Montague, Michigan. Carson graduated from Cornell University with a Masters and has two bachelor degrees from Michigan State University.
Carson lives with his girlfriend and dog Sadie in Pinehurst, NC.
Jordan Booth, Ph.D., Senior Director, Course Consulting Service

Jordan Booth, Ph.D., joined the USGA Green Section in May of 2021. Based in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Jordan serves the Southeast Region. He joined the Green Section after working for Virginia Tech University in turfgrass research and extension. Prior to his time at Virginia Tech, Jordan was the golf course superintendent at Willow Oaks Country Club in Richmond, Virginia.
Alan Owen, Associate Professor, GAP

Alan Owen is an instructor and program coordinator for the USGA Greenkeeper Apprenticeship Program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He began a career in the golf course industry in 1995 as a City & Guilds Apprentice with Myerscough College while working at The Royal Birkdale Golf Club in England. Alan has held various positions, culminating to a Golf Course Superintendent at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Career highlights include significant roles in major renovations, The Open Championship and multiple USGA Championships. Outside of work, Alan enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Lorraine and dog Oscar and in their 1960 MG MGA.
