Funniest Golf Memory:

  • While learning how to golf, my golf instructor took me out on the course for the first time to learn course management. Off the tee, I had two options for my second shot: layup on the left to get to the fairway and then hit towards the green or try to hit over the penalty area to get to the green. My instructor told me to play conservatively and layup left of the hole, but I was adamant about taking the aggressive approach over that penalty area because I had been hitting the ball well at the driving range. He relented and said yes, but looking back, his face and body language said “Absolutely not. Don’t do it.” But I did and that ball went immediately into the penalty area. He then went on to use that opportunity as a teachable course-management moment.
