Chris NeffAgronomist, East Region

Chris Neff is an Agronomist in the Southeast Region for the USGA Green Section. Chris joined the team in 2023 and is based in Bluffton, SC. He has a track record spanning over three decades in the field, and Chris brings a wealth of experience to his role. Most notably, Chris served as the director of greens and grounds at Wexford on Hilton Head for nine years, where he excelled in cultivating Zoysiagrass to the highest standards.

Chris’s journey in agronomy began after graduating from the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental horticulture with a specialization in turfgrass. Following his academic achievements, Chris had the opportunity to work as an assistant superintendent at TPC Sawgrass. During his time there, Chris contributed to five Players Championships, further honing his skills and knowledge. Later, Chris assumed the role of golf course superintendent at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida. Under his leadership, the club hosted the 2002 USGA Senior Amateur, a cherished career highlight.

Chris leverages his extensive experience to assist golf course superintendents and the golf course industry in the Carolinas, Georgia, and North Florida.
